Places to visit

The Elham Valley Railway Museum

Step back in time to the 1930?s. Come along and visit the Elham Valley Railway Museum at Peene, just off the A20 at Folkestone, Kent Leave the M20 motorway at junction 12.

This is really something for the whole family. If you like local history, artefacts, and memorabilia of this the golden age of the railway, pleasant gardens, ducks, doves and trains, then this is the place to visit. The bygone age has been lovingly recreated just for you. You can rest assured that you will not see too much of your children as they will have lots of things to do and see to keep them interested. Just try and get them away from the signal box, or the steam engine. Come to think of it, you might just have some difficulty with Dad as well as the children! See also the largest running railway model of the Channel Tunnel (Folkestone Terminal) it is unbelievable. Mum, if she prefers, can relax with a nice cup of tea and listen to the music of the ?good old days?.

As we are a charitable trust, we can only open on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank holidays during the season from April until August, 1000hrs to 1700hrs (10am-5pm). It is only ?2.00 for adults and ?1.00 for children and senior citizens. So, why not come along to see us as we are very much looking forward to seeing you.
